Advance Return Notification (ARN)
The ARN module is another level
in EDI functionality for your Cat’s system. EDI benefits are well known: EDI
allows transactions to be processed with greater speed and fewer errors. ARN has
an additional benefit for publishers and distributors; it allows you to monitor
the difference between the returns your customers are deducting as chargebacks
compared to what they actually return. Expect this to translate to reduced costs
for the laborious manual reconciliations that are part of the settlement process
with your large customers.
The ARN module stores a file of
pending or expected returns based on input files (the Advance Return Notices)
received from your trading partners. The information in the ARN file is
compared with and reconciled to data captured when the return is received. The
reconciliation is the basis for "settling" discrepancies between what the
customer deducts as chargebacks and what the publisher allows on credit memos.
You will extend staff productivity by adding ARN functionality.
