Auto-assign Backorder Cancellation Dates
Some customers have very strict backorder cancellation
policies. As order volume increases, it can be difficult to remember and
implement backorder cancellation policies. When processing EDI orders,
backorder cancellation dates are assigned only when the input file contains
them or when the publisher specifies cancellation dates linked to custom
programming. For example, a customer backorder policy code of 30 might be
programmed to assign a backorder cancellation date 30 days in the future.
Similar programming could be linked to other codes, such as 60, 90, 6M (six
months), and 1Y (one year). Policy codes for auto-cancelling backorders can
be programmed in regular order entry and EDI modules.
