Discounts for Customer ID
Sometimes publishers contract with a book seller (such as a
consignee or wholesaler) and offer discounts based on high-volume purchases.
Such discounts may not fall into the typical retail, retail chain, or wholesale
schedule. The optional program to maintain Customer ID Discount Table can
automate such special-circumstance discounts. After entering the eligible
customer ID, specify a book discount group. An optional source code can be used
to further condition the discount. Then enter the starting quantity and the
discount. Typically, this discount table would override discounts defined for
combinations of customer and book discount group. However, the discount
hierarchy will be worked out with the publisher. This program can be activated
for regular order entry and EDI modules.
