Erase Credit-Card Information

Some states have passed laws requiring that their state institutions not retain credit-card information in electronic files – not even encrypted information. In response, Cat’s has created an optional program to erase credit-card information. Orders are entered with credit card information in the usual fashion. Periodically, when the publisher has no further need for the electronic information, they run the program to erase credit-card information in the Cat’s data files.
