Import Fulfillment Shipment/Returns DataPublishers that outsource fulfillment may benefit from several interfaces between it and Cat’s Pajamas. Typically, the invoice-printing module will be customized to export packing or billing information. The shipping confirmation module can be customized to import shipment information from the fulfillment system. Several options are possible. Invoices can be updated with actual shipping charge and shipping method information. The invoice weight can be updated and tracking numbers can be captured as invoice comments. Publishers that send billing documents after shipment can batch and print these separately from packing documents. If the fulfillment service can send files with returns information, another interface could convert them to Cat’s returns files, which can be uploaded and processed as credit memos. Cat’s publishers have successfully interfaced with fulfillment system-providers such as Banta, Maple-Vail, PSSC, and WarePak.
