Line Item Template and MacroDo you frequently promote special assortments, order groups, or packages? Do the groupings change with each promotion? Are special prices or discounts offered on the individual items when promoted as a package? Are certain order packages offered in cycles, such as religious or school curriculum materials? Are sales tracked on the component items, but not on the assortment? Use the optional module to Maintain Order Template File to automate the process of repetitive data entry for recurring orders of assortments or packages of items. Create a template of items assigned to an assortment: Define a code and name for each assortment of items. Then define which books comprise the package and indicate quantities and prices or discounts for each item. Items in the assortment may vary in the amount of discount or price change offered from other items in the assortment. During order entry, the operator enters the code for the assortment. The program takes over and creates line items for the items defined in the package. The module can be customized to display all the line items in the package or can pause and allow entry of information into specific fields. Once the template of items is on screen, add or delete items, or adjust the quantity or price. This option has the potential to save quite a bit of time by replacing manual entry of order package components. The order template module enables order entry for a single item that “explodes” into component items that can be edited. Orders are recorded for the individual items and the order entry is streamlined by allowing the entry of a single item that represents the group. This module differs significantly from the logic for handling loose or prepackaged sets. The sets module can track sales both at the component and set level. The sets module records orders at the set level – not at the component item level. The sets module offers no option to edit loose or prepackaged set component items during order entry.
