Monthly Accounting Categories ReportAll Cat’s Pajamas systems provide monthly sales, returns, and cost information. Some publishers track monthly revenues and costs separately for different imprints or series, for distributed lines, or for other criteria. Such reporting criteria can be programmed into the optional Accounting Categories Report. After the month is closed, the module reports “posted” revenues and cost for the individual criterion and the aggregate. A “detail of transactions” provides a journal for each individual category. The Accounting Categories Report can be run for a single month or a range of months. The module can be added to the reports generated automatically by the month-end closing process. The accounting categories criteria can be based on any combination of book or customer record codes. This is a great way to get sales figures by imprint, publisher or division for monthly reporting and posting requirements. The report includes two formats, summary and detail. There is an option, also, to create an export file containing the data. It is easily opened in Excel or Access (or whatever). This export file can be used to transfer data from Cat's to the General Ledger or other business software.
