Purge completed consignment transactionsConsignment summary records are created for every book/ship-to combination ever consigned. However, if a consignee is no longer active, or you no longer consign some books, you may have a multitude of consignment summary records with no stock currently consigned and no prospects of future activity. Using this optional program, you can now purge your consignment summary records with no stock currently consigned, and no activity in the past 6 months. You can purge by last activity date (using a data at least 6 months ago), or view and delete selected qualified records. Consignment transaction records are created for every consignment activity for every book and ship-to -- the initial consignment shipment, returns from consignee, sales of the consignment stock, and returns to the consignee. You can end up with a huge number of transactions in a very short time. You can also use this program to consolidate those consignment transaction records that are at least 6 months old, and optionally purge "orphan" transactions (where the consignment summary record has been deleted). Consolidation reduces the number of old transaction records without losing the summary information about how much has been consigned, returned from the consignee, sold or returned to the consignee. Purging "orphan" transactions gets rid of the audit trail for a consignee you no longer use or stock you no longer consign.
